Want to support abortion access? Well, volunteer as a clinic escort. A clinic escort is a volunteer who greets patients, helps direct traffic assists with parking, and provides in-person direct support to people encountering protestors on their way to abortion care providers.
For many abortion patients, from the moment they exit their car until the moment the clinic doors close behind them, they are bombarded by screaming protestors who surround them and plead with them to protect the life of their unborn fetus. The only protective force standing between them and the graphic images, intimidation, and blaring bullhorns are clinic escorts. These volunteers not only stand up for patients but for the providers as well, to ensure the safety of patients seeking basic healthcare.
